Welcome to the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis

The Washington Center for Psychoanalysis is a non-profit association based in Washington, DC which provides clinical and non-clinical training in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, as well as other psychoanalytic theory and concepts as applied to the arts, film and theater, as well as to academia, and a full program of psychoanalytic scientific meetings, conferences and lectures. Our community, virtual and real-world, provides many opportunities for collegiality, for education and for promotion of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy through community outreach projects.

Programs

The Washington Center for Psychoanalysis offers the following programs:

	Washington Psychoanalytic Institute Offers full psychoanalytic training for careers in psychoanalytic practice, teaching and research.
	Modern Perspectives on Psychotherapy Three-year training program in psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy for mental health professionals.
	New Directions Three-year program for clinicians, academics and writers to apply psychoanalytic perspectives to professional and personal writing.
	Fellowship Program in Psychoanalysis A one-year introduction to psychoanalysis.
	Couple and Family Therapy Training A training experience with video observation that focuses on the treatment of relationships. A two year certificate program or a one year CME educational experience are offered.
	Psychoanalytic Theory for Scholars Introduction to contemporary psychoanalytic theory for non-mental health academicians.
	Psychoanalytic Takes on the Cinema Film discussion series.
	Psychoanalytic Perspectives on Theater Post-performance discussions of plays.

Active members of the Center automatically receive a subscription to Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing (PEPWEB). PEPWEB provides online access to all but the most recent issues of many leading psychoanalytic journals and some books, and includes the entire Standard Edition of Freud's collected works. PEPWEB also enables users to search the literature by author, topic, or key words.

The Washington Center for Psychoanalysis secure website registration form requires users to provide us with contact information, and occasionally demographic information required for invoice processing, continuing education tracking required by our CME/CE granting organizations, and to meet requirements of the DC Department of Education. This information may be shared with other organizations from time to time for purposes of providing information on programs (often CME/CE) and services that the Center determines would be of interest or beneficial to its members. It is not shared with outside for-profit corporations unless such an entity has an ongoing contractual relationship with the Center.
