Marshall Alcorn, PhD
Marshall Alcorn is Professor of English and Human Sciences at The George Washington University. He is Treasurer, Co-founder, and former Director of the Association for Psychoanalysis of Culture and Society. His book Changing the Subject in English Class won the Ross Winterowd Award for best book of the year in Composition Theory. He is a member of the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis and an instructor in the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute.
Arthur Blank, Jr., MD
Arthur Blank, Jr. is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at The George Washington University Medical School. He formerly served as National Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ community-based counseling centers for war veterans, known as Vet Centers. He also served on the American Psychiatric Association’s PTSD committees for the DSM-III-R and DSM-IV. He is a member of the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis and maintains a private practice in Bethesda, Maryland.
Christine Erskine, LICSW
Christine Erskine is a Board Member and Treasurer of the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis and a graduate member of the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. She is Co-founder and former Director and Instructor of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center of North Carolina. Her interests include the relationships among different psychoanalytic theories and between psychoanalysis and culture. She maintains a private practice in Washington, D.C.
Anton Trinidad, MD
Anton Trinidad is a full-time faculty member in The George Washington University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Medical Director of its medical-psychiatry unit. His psychiatric interests include cognitive and brief psychotherapies, neuropsychiatry, and the interface between medicine and psychiatry.
He also has an interest in medical humanities and teaches in the medical school’s Medical Humanities Program, primarily in its Film and Medicine program. He holds a Master of Arts in Literature and, at the time of the conference, was undertaking graduate work at GWU in English and American Language and Literature.
